If you are having trouble connecting to Zoom, make sure you have clicked "Sign In with SSO" and signed in with your TAMU account. If you are signed in with a non-TAMU account, you will not be allowed into the meeting. For more details, see this link.  

You will not receive extra credit in your course for attending one of our sessions. However, our goal is to work with you to master the material so you will do well in your course. 

If the MLC times for your course do not fit in your schedule, then you should try the following: 

• Check your syllabus for your professor's office hours. 
• You can also check the Virtual Math Learning Center which has online videos and practice problems that you can access at any time. 
• The MLC does post the solutions to the Week in Reviews after it is over. 

The Math Learning Center (MLC) and Virtual Math Learning Center (VMLC) are both meant to help TAMU students succeed in their math and stat courses, but they ​offer help in different ways.

• The Math Learning Center focuses on live help where you are interacting with a tutor or attending a review session. These sessions may be in person or on zoom.
• The Virtual Math Learning Center is entirely online with videos and practice problems that you can access at any time and study at your own pace. The VMLC has videos to help you master the material for a specific course, but it also has workshops devoted to specific math topics.

The MLC exists to serve TAMU students, and recording student IDs allows us to track how many students we are helping. Long term, the data is utilized to make informed decisions related to hiring, room sizes, and other program development opportunities.

If you have already browsed our list of courses on the MLC and VMLC and do not see your course listed, we may not have resources available for your course at this time. We recommend that you reach out to your professor or review the class textbook.

You do not need to make an appointment for help sessions. You only need to bring your student ID to sign in when you arrive for an in-person Help Session.

For help sessions, you can arrive and leave at any time during the session. You only need to make sure that you are attending the help session for your specific math course.

Give us a description of what you lost and we can see if it is still in the room. You can send us an email (click here), call us at 979-847-7311, or stop by the MLC office in Blocker 249. We hand over found items to the Open access lab on the first floor of Blocker so you can also check there.

You do not need to sign up for a Week-in-Review. You only need to bring your student ID or a mobile device to sign in when you arrive. There is no need to sign-in to an online (Zoom) hosted Week-in-Review. 

The solutions for a Week-in-Review are only posted after the session has ended, usually the next day. However, it is always best to attend the session (if possible) so you can hear the explanation and discussion of each problem. The solutions are only posted to help those students who could not attend or did not get all the answers copied down during the session. 

The Week-in-Reviews are meant to be live lectures where students get a review of the material covered during the previous week of the course. Most of the sessions are not recorded and will not be posted later. We do post the solutions after the session has ended. You can always check the Virtual Math Learning Center, which has online videos you can watch at any time.  

At the moment, you do not need to sign up to attend a Hands-on, Grades Up session. You only need to bring a mobile device and scan the provided QR code to sign-in.

Hands-on, Grades Up sessions consist of  active-learning structured activities dedicated to selected courses. To encourage participation, solutions are not provided for these sessions.

It is not required for you to arrive at the start of the Hands-on, Grades Up session. Space is limited for these sessions and they are first come first serve so we recommend that you arrive at the start of the session. 

Hands-on, Grades Up is an active learning review session, and we encourage you to stay for the entire session. You will have the opportunity to work through the session in groups and participate in a collaborative environment. Space for these sessions is limited, and we encourage you to take advantage of this resource.

Appointments are released one week at a time. If you do not see any available times then it is likely that all of the appointment times have been taken. If no appointments are available, you may check in next week or attend Help Sessions. See the Help Sessions schedule at this link. 

All appointment based tutoring sessions are in small groups. We do not offer one-on-one tutoring sessions.
