Dr. Jenn Whitfield has dedicated over 30 years to advancing mathematics education and student success at Texas A&M University. As Assistant Provost for the Math Learning Center (MLC), she continues to drive innovation in mathematics instruction, faculty support, and student learning initiatives.

Dr. Whitfield earned her Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics with an emphasis in Computer Science from The Colorado College and later obtained a Master of Science in Mathematics and Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction with a focus on Mathematics Education from Texas A&M. Since joining the university faculty in 2001, she has taught a variety of undergraduate and graduate mathematics courses, demonstrating her passion for teaching and mentorship.

Throughout her career, Dr. Whitfield has played a key role in shaping mathematics education at Texas A&M, holding leadership positions such as Director of aggieTEACH, Assistant Head for Academic Track Faculty Affairs in the Department of Mathematics, and Associate Dean for Faculty Success in the College of Arts and Sciences. She has spearheaded initiatives like the development of open-resource textbooks, the Personalized Precalculus Program, and the Math Placement Exam. Her contributions to faculty and student success have earned her numerous prestigious awards, including the Texas A&M Chancellor’s Academy of Teacher Educators Award, the University Professorship for Undergraduate Teaching Excellence, and the Association of Former Students Distinguished Achievement Award for Teaching at both the University and college levels.

Beyond her professional achievements, Dr. Whitfield is committed to fostering an engaging and supportive learning environment for all students, ensuring that the Math Learning Center remains a vital resource at Texas A&M.
